Marianne Cockroft, PhD, MNEd, RN, Executive Director, UNC-Chapel Hill School of Nursing Mobile Health Clinic
Dr. Cockroft is the founder and executive director of a nurse-managed mobile health clinic providing care to mostly uninsured individuals. By offering this free service in the community, she developed a unique opportunity for faculty, undergraduate and graduate students to deliver holistic care to vulnerable populations. She models for nursing students and other health care professionals how to build community capacity and fill gaps in health care.
Dr. Cockroft is an Associate Professor Emerita at UNC-Chapel Hill School of Nursing with over 40 years of experience as a nurse educator including roles in educational administration and clinical teaching. She was recognized for her expertise and contributions to public health nursing by being named one of 100 distinguished public health nurses in North Carolina.
