Michal Divney, LCSW is the Human Dimension and Community Programs Manager at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine. She worked for nearly 20 years in non-profit counseling and family services prior to joining the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine in early 2018 in time to welcome its first cohort of students. She is an experienced clinician and manager with a background in organizational cultural competence, continuous quality improvement, trauma counseling, and program development. She is an appointed Instructor in Family Medicine at the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine and serves as the Human Dimension and Community Programs Manager overseeing community immersion programs for students in the longitudinal Human Dimension Course– where classroom sessions and community engagement and service bring the determinants of health to life for budding physicians. As part of the course’s leadership, she also develops and teaches curriculum and serves on the schools’ Diversity and Inclusion Committee and the Cultural Humility Subcommittee of the Medical Education Committee.
