Dr. Susan Silva is an Associate Research Professor in the Duke University Schools of Nursing and Medicine, with expertise in biostatistics and neuropsychology. Within the School of Nursing, Dr. Silva is a faculty statistician in the Health Statistics and Data Science Core of the Center for Nursing Research. She teaches data analytic methods courses in the School of Nursing PhD Program and Doctor of Nursing Practice Program, as well as mentors doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows conducting research and quality improvement projects. Dr. Silva has been the Principal Investigator or Statistical Co-investigator for a multitude of NIH-funded multi-site clinical trials, pragmatic clinical trials networks, and national research centers devoted to the improvement of adolescent mental health treatments and services. She has been long-standing member of the NIMH Data Safety and Monitoring Board, providing oversight of large child and adolescent multi-center clinical trials sponsored by the NIMH. Dr. Silva is also the author or co-author of 250 peer-reviewed research publications.
