Training Director
El Futuro
Durham, North Carolina, United States
Juan Prandoni received his PhD in clinical psychology from the University of North Carolina Greensboro in 2018. During his training years, as well as since, Juan's research and practice focus have centered around exploring and understanding how the intersections of immigration, acculturation, cultural values, and systemic factors impact mental health presentation and evidence-based treatment adaptations for working with the Latine community. Since receiving his doctorate, Juan has worked as El Futuro's Training Director where, alongside a team of likeminded clinicians and project managers, he has developed training and professional education materials to aid in building North Carolina's workforce's capacity to meet the needs of the Latine community through effective, evidence-based, and sustainable practices. The trainings have been delivered both through the La Mesita Professional Mental Health Network that he has helped build as well as through targeted consultation and dissemination efforts to providers across the state. These efforts have also reached not just mental health providers, but have also been tailored to meet the needs of integrative care agencies encompassing the full spectrum of care that is often needed for supporting the Latine community, including medical personnel, support staff, community-based stakeholders, and many others.
