Margaret Thorsen is a first year fellow in Maternal Fetal Medicine at Women and Infants Hospital in Providence, RI. Having grown up in RI she is committed to providing patient-centered care for those in her home community with high risk pregnancies and promoting health equity in clinical care. Her research focuses on improving informed patient consent for patients with limited health literacy, especially for complex, time-sensitive topics such as prenatal genetic testing. She is a former Brown Advocates for Social Change and Equity (BASCE) fellow and has thoroughly enjoyed working on a recent interdisciplinary project "Centering Reproductive Justice: A mutlidisciplinary trainign curriculum on reflective anti-racism" under the mentorship and leadership of Ana Sofia Barber DeBrito, CNM.
