Dr. Scott is executive director of the New Mexico Primary Care Training Consortium and college professor in the College of Arts and Sciences at New Mexico State University. She received her B.A. in Women’s Studies from Duke University and her M.A. and Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of Kentucky. Her work focuses on developing curricula and other tools to improve training in health equity in primary care residencies. Her research has been funded by the National Science Foundation, Fulbright, National Cancer Institute, the New Mexico State University College of Arts & Sciences, the Southwest and Border Cultures Institute, and the Loomis Foundation. Her work has been published in Family Medicine, Collaborative Anthropologies, Journal of Interprofessional Care, and Qualitative Health Research among other journals.
